Success and failure are two sides of a coin. We feel happy if we are successful and tend to do more work with a great amount of positivity.
What happens if we fail in a certain activity? We get demoralized and can't bear the rejection. Gradually, we start the phase of seeing a state of depression. Our work life balance goes haywire. We start to see everything getting spoiled one by one.
My failure story:
I once faced the same situation when I could not diagnose one of my patients correctly. Though I was learning at that time, my batchmates did a better job.
After this, I went into a state of depression by this single failure which is very small in the career of medicine. My seniors motivated me but it was not creating any impact on me. The more I think about it the more I get depressed.
How I got inspired and bounced back?
One day, I got a chance to meet one of the learned faculties in Pediatrics in my institution. She told me she even made the same mistake during her graduation but she never took it as a failure. In fact, she worked hard and improved her diagnostic skills drastically. Now she is one of the most reputed doctors in the world.
This gave me a lesson to not get affected by failure or rejection in any situation. We should bounce back with more vigor. #medicine #diagnosis #failure #challenges #rejection #learning #motivation #skills #positivity #inspiration
