RuneScape is getting a busy week already, and RuneScape gold is only Monday. Its main version is launch a new Valentine's Day-themed pursuit, while Old School RuneScape is still working through feedback to its proposed gear balance changes.
RuneScape's Heartstealer quest kicks off this week, having players join an NPC named Caelyn at a heist to steal a"massive heart-shaped ruby" to procure an anniversary gift for Annette. While definitely a Valentine's Day flavored pursuit, it will be available forever, so you needn't handle the heist straight away. It is going to be available to anybody, no requirements needed, but individuals that have at least a level 20 Thieving ability can maintain a thieving XP Lamp following the quest. Old School RuneScape lovers can continue to give feedback on the proposed Gear Balance changes the developers have been suggesting since late January. The newest blog article puts forth some of he real changes based on participant feedback that the staff has in mind to execute. The OSRS staff did caution that a number of the modifications will impact some players and builds over others, and they are talking internally to figure out ways to allow these affected assembles to"continue in their current form, whilst still trying to achieve the consequences [they're] aiming for."
As such, the team recorded out some of the proposed changes to object requirments into"better match their stats," such as making the Inqsuisitor's Mace now require 80 Attack versus the first 75, or raising the base edition of the Nightmare Staff from a 65 Magic level to 72. The Old School RuneScape team also detailed a few of the plans to nerf a few items, stating they are simply"too strong to stay as they are."
