Dressing well not only makes you feel more confident, but it can also help you look better and feel better about yourself.
According to a study published in the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology, people who dressed well felt better about themselves than those who didn’t. They also had higher self-esteem and were more likely to feel confident in social situations.
Dressing well can help improve your body image too. A study published in the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology found that people who felt good about their appearance were more likely to have a positive body image. They were also less likely to feel self-conscious about their weight and body size.
Yesterday, I experienced the same when I got dressed to go for an outing. Generally, I do not care about my clothes and wear them without planning. Yesterday, I wore a dress gifted by my mother a few days ago.
Soon after, I started feeling positive and confident as well.
In the mall, I even noticed people were looking at me which I don't usually see. One of the ladies who was in mid 30s even complimented my dress while I was in a queue waiting for the milkshake. She was curious to know where I bought the dress.
I felt really good and was happy at the same time. It is such a nice feeling when you get a compliment in a public place by a stranger. A friend's compliment will not matter much as compared to the person whom you do not know. After this incident, I am more conscious now to dress better and look good every time.
Apart from this, I am practicing to wear one more thing every day. I read about it just yesterday in an outstanding article posted by Bill Abbate- The best thing you can wear
Happy dressing!
