During a vacation last summer, I met my relatives in my hometown. I was interacting with my cousins and heard one of them saying, "Only lucky people are successful."
The other cousin replied, "No, only successful people are lucky."
Both the statements are opposite yet make a lot of sense.
As I was already following Mr. Ravi Venkatesan's advice, I told my cousins about it. In the column of Mindset Matters of the Times of India newspaper, Venkatesan mentioned the following:
What's luck got to do with success? A lot.
Over the years I have developed a few practices to ensure that the good luck keeps flowing.
1. Start by showing up
2. Count your blessings
3. Pay it forward
4. Change your networks- Six networks shape your life- where you are born and your family, the school and college that you attend, your first job, your spouse and the city you live in.
Venkatesan is a writer, business leader and social entrepreneur. His recent book is 'What the Heck do I do with my Life'.
So, according to me luck and success go hand in hand. Have you ever experienced the same?
