I used to be quite emotional with my relationships. I used to get disturbed easily if anything went wrong until I realized the following fact of life.
Our colleagues, friends, relatives, parents or spouse for that matter have their own lives and limited time on earth. They can not please us every now and then.
Neither they can be with us forever as life is uncertain. They have their own tasks and responsibilities to deal with. During our interaction with them we can not expect everything to be perfect all the time.
So, I learned how to detach myself from the relationships. I could only rely on God whenever I needed. Through meditation I achieved amazing results. I found out a connection with God which was missing earlier. Now I feel good and satisfied.
Apart from that I started practicing gratitude. I thank all my possessions, relationships, health and wisdom. This in turn has boosted my confidence. My relationships have improved. I enjoy life more now.

Fantastic post. Expecting from others will always hurt us. @Bari Wager
"So, I learned how to detach myself from the relationships."
The above statement of yours is so heartbreaking but it is practical as well. I appreciate your post. @Bari Wager
We should not be discussing every personal matter with them. We can do it with God freely @Bari Wager
@Bari Wager I completely agree with you.
@Bari Wager your post has all the gravity. Very well presented.
